It has been my honor and privilege to lead THE Travel Authority, Inc. since its formation in 1989. With the assistance of Sandy, my wife of 38 years, our daughter, Lori and a number of talented and caring “team members” – including Christine Sauerbry and Julie Setzer THE Travel Authority, Inc. has prospered through the years. While my name is at the top of the organization chart, I’ve been blessed to have a lot of help over the years. These folks have done much of the “heavy lifting” that made what THE Travel Authority, Inc. is today!
In large part, our success must be attributed to the support of the many wonderful clients – group travel planners and individual travelers who have entrusted us to plan their all important vacations. Additionally, we tip our hat to many suppliers, whose support we need to fulfill our promises to clients of memorable vacations.

Hi: As you can tell by my name I am Barry’s kid sister (just kidding) Barry is my husband. We have one daughter, who is a physician. We have been married for almost 38 years. I have been in the travel business since 1989. I have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Prior to getting into Travel, I was a legal secretary for 8 years. I look forward to serving your travel needs.
Christine Sauerbry
Tour Planning & Operations
Hello! I’m Christine Sauerbry. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and I currently reside in Missouri with my husband Terry and our sons Bruce and Brayden. I have been with THE Travel Authority since 1998 and thanks to modern technology even in Missouri I continue to work for THE Travel Authority. I am involved with the planning and operational aspects of my assigned tours and I work directly with our tour suppliers on an ongoing basis.
Julie Setzer
Lead Tour Manager
I have been a Tour Manager for THE Travel Authority, Inc. since 2003. My former career as an educator prepared me well for this new career. Consequently, the organization and research skills and ability to provide our valued clients with a variety of activities to make their trips more enjoyable come naturally to me.
What I most enjoy about my job is sharing the sights, sounds and experiences of places that I love. Watching our clients eyes light up as they fall in love with the incredible country in which we live gives me tremendous satisfaction. Whether it’s the southern charm of Savannah, the majesty of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, the amazing shows in Branson, Missouri or any of the other wonderful places that we visit, it’s always a fun time. I look forward to seeing you on your next vacation!
